As per the Rajasthan government’s notification on 1st January, now restaurants and hotels without having commercial conversion approval can get a liquor license in Rajasthan.  According to the notification, with the payment of 75 percent of the existing licensing fee, restaurants and hotels in Rajasthan will get license for six months and the period can be extended in exchange of payment of another 25 percent of the fees.

Many restaurants in the state are eager to have a bar license, in absence of which some of them sell liquor illegally. This step is expected to curb illegal sell of liquor in the state and also add to the state’s revenues.
