Aberfeldy releases its 18-year-old limited edition, finished in French wine casks

John Dewar & Sons has unveiled its latest limited expression from The Golden Dram – ABERFELDY 18 Years Old, which is finished in French wine casks from Pauillac, Bordeaux.

Initially spending 18 years in a combination of first-fill Bourbon, re-fill and re-char casks, the whisky has undergone a second maturation period of around 4-5 months to impart a deep flavour profile, and create a perfect balance between Aberfeldy’s honeyed richness and the firm tannins and complexity of Pauillac wines.

ABERFELDY 18 Years Old French red wine cask expression is bottled at 43 percent ABV and joins the existing portfolio of single malts as a limited edition expression.

Priced at £95, the newly launched liquid is initially available exclusively from the Aberfeldy Distillery and its online shop from 8th September for one month, and then would be rolled out in the markets of USA, China, Taiwan, Germany, France.
