Goa government to Ban Alcohol Beverage Sale in Industrial Estates
According to Goa’s Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane, for the safety of its workers, the Goa’s government is to ban the sale of alcoholic beverages in the industrial estates of the state. Earlier, the government of Goa banned drinking of alcoholic beverages in public in ‘tourist areas’ of the state through a legislation. If anybody is caught violating the rule, he/she is to be subjected to a fine that can range between Rs.2000-Rs.10,000.
Coming back to the most recent ruling of the Goa government, it can be assumed that over 50,000 people who are employed in the 24 industrial estates of the state are likely to be benefitted by this move the Goa government.
