He feels that the choice of ingredients used to make cocktails may vary but serving a well balanced cocktail would have to be the prime focus of any bartender. He thinks things get better when the guest would like to be more experimental with cocktails.

There has been a boom in the cocktail culture in India when compared to the past. However, if compared to the ever-escalating cocktail culture in other parts of the world, India is still at an evolving stage. “But India’s cocktail scene has, without any doubt, come a long way from what it was a decade or more ago. New age mixologists are taking more pride and effort in reinventing their roles and craft; encouraging patrons to try out more innovative cocktails and are making sure everyone leaves the bar with a pleasant and memorable drinking experience,” observes Rohan Carvalho.
WHeRe Is It Headed? the future definitely looks bright. the evolving cocktail culture in India has brought pleasure to millions of drinkers. apart from creating repeat customers at drinking establishments, it has enhanced profitability for bars, increased volume sales for spirits and liqueur brands and given opportunities for restaurants, hotels and pubs to reposition themselves. “Bartending as a profession is now treated with more respect and the demand for skillful and well-trained bartenders/mixologists have increased immensely in the country,” Rohan says.
