Abhinav Jindal, Founder & CEO, Kimaya Himalayan Beverages LLP, launched both his beers BeeYoung & Yavira in the month of September 2019, which also meant starting off in the lean season. This was done after two years of extensive research & back-end preparation. Since their launch, they have sold over one lakh cases in the markets of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand where Kimaya Himalayan Beverages currently operates.
To quote numbers, they are selling around 30,000 cases per month in these markets. As the season approaches in March, they expect this number to rise rapidly to over 1,50,000 cases a month. Having received great traction and response in the said markets, Kimaya Himalayan Beverages LLP has just set foot in Punjab this month.
BeeYoung, since the date of its launch has become the second highest selling beer in its category in Delhi. Abhinav and his team were thrilled when BeeYoung was awarded as ‘Best Debutant Beer of the Year’ by Spiritz Achievers Awards 2019.
Many beer companies have sold stocks in the north Indian markets this year at major discounts but Abhinav feels a new entrant like Kimaya Himalayan Beverages LLP has to be a disruptor rather than being the disrupted.
After completing his MBA in 2000, Abhinav began his career with Arthur Andersen as a Business Consultant, after which he stepped in to the retail business of alcohol beverages. That was in 2003, when the then government supported new entrepreneurs who were keen to become change agents on how alcoholic beverages were being retailed to consumers.
