SOM Group of Companies has a very inspiring story. Rising from humble beginnings about three decades back, it is now India’s one of the top alcoholic beverage companies, with an impressive brand portfolio and wide reach in the country.

Spearheaded by industry veteran, Jagdish Arora (CMD) and ably supported by his young & dynamic son, Deepak Arora as the CEO, the company is expanding its footprints in the country’s fast evolving alcoholic beverages industry. It is adding new brands and flavours for the millennial consumers after deep market research. Besides alcoholic beverages, the group has diversified into the infrastructure and real estate business. Under its subsidiary company, SOM Group has undertaken highway projects and luxury housing projects in MP.

In a candid interview with Shalini Kumar, the young CEO of SOM Group of Companies, Deepak Arora covered a range of issues and shared his future plans for the group.

Q. Talk a bit about the comprehensive corporate vision of your group.

A. The SOM word can be traced to Hindu mythology. We are a young, growing group with humble beginnings. In our 32 years of journey, growth & innovation have always remained the two constants. On these strong foundations we are soaring new heights year after year. From the very humble beginnings to the making of Rs 4000 crores per annum conglomerate, the company has come a long way. Today SOM group is being acknowledged as one of the leading liquor brands in major parts of the country.

During the financial year gone by, we not only launched new products, which have garnered strong all-round appreciation but have also laid out exciting plans for the future, which would set us up on a completely new growth trajectory.
